Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

ICPPTD304 - Apply problem solving techniques to 3D printing maintenance and operation

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Apply operational maintenance techniques

  1. Interpret and undertake operational maintenance according to manufacturer specifications
  2. Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues and implement control measures
  3. Select and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for work activities in accordance with work health and safety (WHS) procedures
  4. Identify and obtain equipment required for maintenance according to organisational policies and procedures
  5. Carry out routine maintenance activities according to manufacturer specifications
  6. Create and maintain a record of maintenance undertaken
  7. Identify and document recommended spare parts required according to manufacturer specifications
